Hill+Knowlton Strategies Strengthens Hong Kong Operations with Key Senior Appointments

Hong Kong - 23 August 2012 – Hill+Knowlton Strategies Hong Kong announced the appointment of two directors, Joey Chan and Virginia Ngai, and media trainer May Chan Rhodes, who collectively bring deep expertise in diverse fields including digital, corporate communications, public affairs, and issues/crisis management. They will report directly to John Morgan, chief operating officer, H+K Strategies Asia and managing director, H+K Strategies Hong Kong.

“The appointment of Joey, Virginia and May is part of our overall strategy to attract the best talent to Hong Kong and Asia, strengthen our ability to deliver clients the highest level of senior communications counsel, and significantly enhance our capabilities in the different specialty areas which are in the highest demand,” Morgan said. “I am confident they will play an instrumental role in driving H+K Strategies Hong Kong’s business growth, build strong client relationships and develop effective communications strategies for our clients.”

Joey Chan joined as director, corporate communications and government / public affairs with 15 years of experience specializing in corporate communications, public affairs and issues/crisis communications. She has forged strong relationships with media partners and government stakeholders during her previous appointments at Dairy Farm Company Limited, Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation and MTR Corporation.

Meanwhile, Virginia Ngai joined H+K Strategies Hong Kong as director, digital communications and consumer marketing, bringing 11 years of experience to the team. She joins from Grebstad Hicks Communications Hong Kong where she served as digital media director. Prior to Grebstad Hicks Communications Hong Kong, Virginia was a senior editor with Edipresse, and was tasked to manage the editorial content for Macau Tatler. Other previous appointments were with MRM Worldwide, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and Blaze Creative Group.

With 10 years of experience in journalism, May Chan Rhodes joined H+K Strategies Hong Kong as account director and media trainer for crisis planning and communications training. As a former business reporter at the South China Morning Post, she covered a gamut of business assignments including trend stories, business features and profile pieces of individuals and companies within the financial sector.
