Yusen Logistics establishes new company in Istanbul, Turkey

21 August 2012 - In a response to serving as a Strategic Hub for the Black and Mediterranean Seas to meet heightening logistics needs, Yusen Logistics Co. Ltd. (“YLK”) has established Yusen Logistics Turkey Lojistik Hizmetleri Limited Sirketi ("YLTR"), which will begin operations on 1st October.

Having prospered since ancient times as a crossroads of civilization, Turkey is one of the key members of the VISTA and Next Eleven groups of nations that are expected to follow the BRICS as emerging economies. Individual consumption in Turkey is rising on the back of a steady economy and in the nation’s major industries of automobile production and electronics, Japanese, U.S. and European companies are actively operating local production facilities, benefiting from its geographical advantages. As a consequence, Turkey is boosting its exports to Europe and surrounding nations. As it establishes its status as both a production base and consumer, Turkey is also assuming greater importance as a centre of logistics to support those functions.

To meet the rising logistics needs in Turkey, where Yusen Logistics (Europe) B.V. has a representative office, we have recently established a new company called Yusen Logistics Turkey Lojistik Hizmetleri Limited Sirketi.

YLTR will offer services that have long been the Group’s strengths, namely general logistics solutions that combine air/ocean forwarding. As well as inland logistics such as truck cargo and warehouse businesses to service the automobile and retail industries. YLTR will also take advantage of local geographical characteristics to meet customers’ needs in rising economies, acting as a hub for the developing business networks in the Black Sea, Mediterranean, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

YLK continues to improve its services and strengthen its overseas network to meet the increasingly diverse and sophisticated logistics needs of its customers.
