Jokey to build a new plant in Uljanovsk, Russia

05 September 2012 - Jokey is building up a new plant in Russia. The new production plant will be established in Uljanovsk. With the company in the Volga region - situated in a central location - Jokey will be in the position to improve the supply of the Russian market and with that, strengthen its market leadership. 

On 31 July, 2012, the agreement on the building project was signed with the government and the regional development agency. The new plant Jokey Plastik Uljanovsk OOO will implicate an investment volume of approx. 15-20 million Euro. Up to 120 new jobs will be provided in that region. 

The Russian market is of great interest to us and Uljanovsk offers an ideal location to supply companies throughout Russia. We are very happy, that the building project could be agreed upon within a very short time“, commented Herbert Kemmerich, CEO of the Jokey Holding, when signing the contract. 

Apart from the business enterprise in Moscow, the plant, situated 850 km eastward direction, is to further strengthen Jokey´s presence on the Russian market. There is a considerable demand in Russia for plastic packaging produced by Jokey. With the expansion eastwards, Jokey meets the requirements of its numerous Russian customers. The new plant ensures the security of supply for the continuously growing market with its attractive customer potential and increasing purchasing power. 

Jokey has been producing plastic containers for the filling industry for more than 40 years. The Jokey Group comprises 13 production sites across Germany, France, Poland, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Belarus, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt and Canada in addition to sales offices on every continent. The Group is made complete with our own tool manufacturer. Over 1,400 employees generate an annual turnover which currently stands at around 400 million Euros.
