MAUSER Opens New Steel Drum Plant in Singapore

Bruehl/Germany - 14 September 2012 - MAUSER Group, a worldwide leading company in industrial packaging, has opened its new steel drum plant in Singapore. Built in just 18 months since spring 2011, the new site enables MAUSER to triple its steel drum production in Singapore and is in line with MAUSER’s ambition to further expand growth in the Asian Pacific region.

Soon after opening its new site in China, MAUSER continues to expand its presence in the Asian Pacific region by opening a steel drum plant in Singapore. At the new two-storey MAUSER site in Singapore, the company offers state-of-the-art production lines where it will be able to produce plain drums, inside-coated drums and open-top drums. The new MAUSER site with approximately 10,000 square meters is designed to replace MAUSER’s existing plant in Benoi Road, Singapore, which has been manufacturing uncoated drums since 2006. The new site enables MAUSER to introduce a leaner and more automated production and to even better serve its customers in Southeast Asia. This is in line with MAUSER’s approach to grow globally with the customers and to focus on sustainability and ecology.

This latest investment in Asia will triple the capacity of the MAUSER steel drum production in Singapore. The final stage of the facility will be completed by the end of this year when the second of its two production lines will come online.

We are very happy to introduce our new site in Singapore after only 18 months of construction,” said Stefan Wiedenhöfer, General Manager of MAUSER Singapore Pte Ltd. “This plant in Tuas Bay Drive is one of the most advanced, efficient and modern steel drum factories of its kind in the world. We will be able to react much more efficiently in Singapore to the growing demand for reliable industrial packaging solutions, especially from the chemical industries.”
