Berrymans Lace Mawer enters Irish legal market with new office in Dublin

01 October 2012 - Berrymans Lace Mawer has opened a new office as it expands its footprint into Dublin. The new office, which opens today, will initially focus on motor, liability and property damage claims, but the firm plans to extend this to include professional indemnity, healthcare, corporate risks and construction work.

The opening will provide the firm with a platform to develop relationships with existing clients operating in Ireland, as well as pursuing new relationships. The connection between Dublin and the London Market is also one that the firm is keen to explore further, building on its strengths in that area.

The new team will initially comprise 12 lawyers and claims handlers, but the firm is expecting the headcount to grow significantly over the next three years.

Launching in Ireland is the first step in the firm's growth strategy, set out by the new national senior partner, Michael Brown. He said: "Our business is driven by the opportunities we develop with our clients. The Irish legal market is facing significant developments and our clients expect us to be alongside them, supporting their objectives.

"We have a strong vision of where we want to be in five years time and extending the jurisdictions we work with clients in is an important aspect of our strategic vision.

"We are well placed to work alongside Irish clients who are keen to benefit from our experience of the UK claims market."

Berrymans Lace Mawer will be located at Merrion Hall, Strand Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4.
