cargo-partner opens new office in Dhaka, Bangladesh

03 October 2012 - cargo-partner has opened its own office in Dhaka, Bangladesh. With this location it strengthens its network in South Asia. The scope of services in Bangladesh – operated by 11 employees – ranges from everyday transport business like Air and Sea Cargo as well as warehousing and customs brokerage services. 

It has obtained the Freight Forwarding License in Bangladesh as a 100% foreign owned agent. There are only a handful of MNC freight forwarders companies who have opened a 100% own office in Bangladesh. 

Bangladesh is listed among the “Next Eleven” which means; that it has a high potential of becoming one of the world’s largest economies in the 21st century. The most important port is Chittagong which handles around 92% of all import-export trade. The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport is the largest airport in Bangladesh and handles around 52% of the total arrivals and departures of the country which equates to around 6 million passengers and 150,000 tonnes of cargo.
