Management consulting firm Strategic Decisions Group opens office in Hong Kong

18 October 2012 - Management consulting firm Strategic Decisions Group (SDG) announced today that it has opened an office in Hong Kong, its fourth in Asia, under the direction of Peter Hopper, who leads the firm’s technology and manufacturing practice in Asia.

The firm said its Hong Kong presence was the natural outcome of growing demand among clients seeking sourcing optimization and supply chain productivity, extensions of the firm’s traditional strategy consulting to clients that range from multinational corporations to promoter businesses poised for growth. SDG’s Asia-Pacific Practice has particularly deep experience serving clients in airports, chemicals, construction, consumer products, energy, engineering, infrastructure, life sciences, and transportation.

The firm’s newest office is in the heart of Hong Kong’s second largest business district, at Cambridge House, Level 8, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Island East. The new location puts SDG in the vicinity of many foreign companies that have established an operation and management presence in Hong Kong for doing business in China.

The Hong Kong office is SDG’s fourth in Asia, after Mumbai and Gurgaon in India and Singapore. Earlier this year the firm opened an office on the European continent, in Düsseldorf, Germany. SDG’s worldwide headquarters is in Palo Alto, Calif., USA.

Mr. Hopper has more than 30 years of operating experience in a wide range of technology-based industries and spent more than 20 years with Philips Electronics, most recently as CEO of Philips Mobile Display Systems. He has an MBA from Manchester Business School and a degree in business studies, with honors, from Northumbria University in the United Kingdom.
