Fuji Electric Establishes Sales and Marketing Subsidiary in Sao Paulo, Brazil

Tokyo - 10 December 2012 - Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. announced today that its consolidated subsidiary, Fuji Electric Corp. of America, has established a sales and marketing company in Brazil, Fuji Electric Brazil-Euipamentos de Energia Ltda. 

In the past, Fuji Electric has been selling general component products including inverters, power semiconductors and system products in Brazil and other areas in Latin America through Fuji Electric Corp. of America. The Company has also expanded its power generation business by exporting high-capacity rectification equipment (S-Former) and power generation equipment to Latin America. 

Brazil is the sixth largest economy in the world and plans to host the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016. Therefore, rapid improvement of infrastructures and capital investments in manufacturing are expected to help drive sustainable growth in the region. By establishing this sales and marketing subsidiary, Fuji Electric intends to bolster its business activities tailored for the local market, and continue to expand its presence in Latin America.

Fuji Electric Brazil-Equipamentos de Energia Ltda will be based in Sao Paulo, Brazil and will commence operations on 1st January 2012. 

Fuji Electric Corp. of America is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuji Electric Co., Ltd., and has been responsible for sales and distribution of the Company’s products since 1970. Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. has been developing power electronics equipment since 1923, and is a global leader in industrial products ranging from semiconductors, power supply, and power generation equipment to AC drives and electric vehicle charging stations.
