Helsinki-based Tuxera opens office in Beijing, China

- Third office in Asia, joining Seoul and Taipei 
- Michael Chen named Director of Business Development for new office

Helsinki, Finland and Beijing, China – 29 January 2013 – Tuxera Inc. today announced it has opened an office in Beijing, China, joining Seoul and Taipei as the company’s third office in Asia and the fifth globally. With headquarters located in Helsinki, Finland Tuxera has already offices in the world’s leading technology hubs on three continents.

The China office supports the rapidly growing demand for Tuxera’s file system products and support services in Greater China. Michael Chen has been named as the Director of Business Development for the new office bringing over 15 years of embedded software and semiconductors expertise to Tuxera customers. “With an office in China, our customers are receiving more swift and personal service. We are fully committed to build and maintain long-term relationship with the leading local consumer electronics manufacturers in China and elsewhere in Asia,” said Michael Chen, Director of Business Development in China. 

Analysts estimate the Chinese consumer electronics industry will continue to grow steadily at a rate of 9% throughout this year. In addition, the demand for comprehensive cross-platform interoperability and high performance in consumer electronics is surging. According to Tuxera CEO Mikko Välimäki it is crucial for Tuxera to be locally present in China: “China has the world’s fastest growing technology industry and we are growing together with it. Establishing the local office in Beijing is a further natural step in our Asian expansion, where an increasing number of our key customers are based.
