Japan’s Omron Healthcare Establishes Subsidiary in Seoul, South Korea

- To import and market medical devices for home & professional use 

04 January 2012 - Omron Healthcare Co., Ltd. announced the establishment of a South Korean subsidiary, Omron Healthcare Korea Co., Ltd., to expand business there. Set up on January 1, 2013, the subsidiary opened for business on January 2.

With the population aging rapidly and both the living environment and dietary life changing, patients suffering from lifestyle-related diseases, particularly high blood pressure and diabetes, are increasing sharply in South Korea. There is a growing awareness of the importance of preventing lifestyle diseases as well as health management at home.

Omron Healthcare Korea will import and market medical devices for home and professional use, including blood pressure monitors and body composition monitors for homes as well as blood pressure monitors and arterial pulse wave monitors for hospitals. 

Omron Healthcare Korea Co., Ltd. will be based in Seoul and headed by Jung Ji-Won, President and Representative Director. It has a capital of 1.02 billion South Korean won (approximately 80 million yen) and 18 employees. 

Omron Healthcare provides clinically proven, innovative medical equipment for health monitoring and therapy. Its product portfolio includes blood pressure monitors, nebulizer, electronic thermometers, blood glucose monitors and activity counters as well as body composition monitors and professional medical devices. Omron Healthcare Group is headquartered in Muko City, Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. Its President is Kiichiro Miyata.
