Logwin Opens New Warehouse in Sydney, Australia

Grevenmacher, Luxembourg – 06 February 2013 - Logwin has opened a new multiuser warehouse in Sydney, Australia. The international logistics service provider Logwin has been present in Australia since 1978. Today the company has four sites in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney, and has more than 40 employees nationwide.

In the newly erected, modern facility, Logwin has bundled current customer projects that were previously handled at multiple sites. The majority of customers come from the electronics, mechanical engineering, fashion, consumer goods, and project logistics industries. The new location is especially interesting for companies that see Sydney as a stopover point for their products. Across three storeys and with a total area of 4,000 square metres, the facility includes high-bay warehouses, commissioning stations, and a special area for fashion and lifestyle products where both hanging garments and boxed goods can safely be stored.

The logistics centre also has modern camera systems that monitor the facilities around the clock and is further integrated into Logwin’s single worldwide IT system. “Customers can seamlessly track their goods at any point along the process in real-time, whether they’re moving along a global transport chain or in regional distribution – from order to shop delivery,” says Thomas Kilian, Country Director for Logwin in Australia.

As an external partner, Logwin AG, Grevenmacher (Luxembourg), develops a comprehensive range of logistics and service solutions for trade and industry. In 2011, the group generated sales of 1.3 billion euros and currently employs more than 5,700 staff. Logwin AG is listed in the Prime Standard of the Deutsche Börse.
