Hume Brophy Opens New Office in Singapore

21 March 2013 - Hume Brophy, a leading independent Government Affairs and PR Communications firm, is expanding into Asia with opening of a new office in Singapore. Founded by John Hume and Eoin Brophy in 2005, Hume Brophy already has a team of over 60 Consultants working in Brussels, Dublin, London and Paris.

The new office will be headed up by Una McGirr, a former Communications director at BT Ireland. Una takes on the role of Managing Director and brings to it more than 20 years of international corporate communications expertise, specialising in strategic communications, media and investor relations and stakeholder and crisis management.

She spent 13 years with British Telecom plc in a range of senior management roles, including Head of European Media Relations and Public Affairs, and Director of Communications at BT Ireland. She has been based in Singapore for the last five years and has widespread business and strategic contacts across the region.

Founding Partner, John Hume commented: “Hume Brophy is a highly ambitious firm attuned to our clients’ international needs and growth aspirations. As companies increasingly look to the East, the establishment of an Asia operation was a logical next step in providing existing and prospective clients with a global communications and public relations network, and the opportunity to build their profile and reputation across the region.

This is an important milestone for us, and we believe we are now ideally placed to help Irish and international companies to establish a foothold across Asia while simultaneously advising Asian companies seeking a greater understanding of, and presence in Europe.”
