Polaris Industries to build new manufacturing facility in Opole, Poland

14 May 2013 - Polaris Industries Inc. received a permit for business activity in the Walbrzych Special Economic Zone in Opole, Poland. The brand-new facility will be the Company’s first dedicated manufacturing facility for Off-Road Vehicles in Europe. The facility is expected to break ground during the third quarter of this year. The project was supported by Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency.

“A cornerstone of Polaris’ long-term growth strategy is to continue growing globally. Operating manufacturing facilities local to these international markets is an integral component to driving global market leadership,” said Scott Wine, Chairman and CEO. “Our new facility in Poland will fill this role, providing much-needed off-road vehicle capacity to serve our European markets with locally manufactured products.”

The facility will be a new structure built on a greenfield site designed specifically to the Company’s needs. It will be built within the Walbrzych Special Economic Zone in Opole, Poland, an area dedicated to encouraging business growth in the region.

The new facility is scheduled to begin off-road vehicle production in the fall of 2014 and is projected to employ at least 350 skilled workers.

Polaris has previously invested in new facilities to develop and build products in markets with growing consumer demand. In 2010, the Company opened a facility in Monterrey, Mexico as demand for Polaris products rose in the southern United States and Latin America.

Polaris is a leader in the powersports industry with annual 2012 sales of $3.2 billion. Polaris designs, engineers, manufactures and markets innovative, high quality off-road vehicles, including all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and the Polaris RANGER® and RZR® side-by-side vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles and on-road electric/hybrid powered vehicles.
