Syniverse Inaugurates $2.3 million Customer Support Center in Costa Rica

San José, Costa Rica – 28 August 2013 – Syniverse inaugurated its new $2.3 million Costa Rica office that will provide technical and support services to customers across Latin America and beyond. This year, Syniverse plans to assemble a staff of 70 at the center and will expand the number of employees in the future. The new support center is located in Avenida Escazú, a major business district in San José.

“Latin America is both a rapidly growing and increasingly sophisticated mobile market, and the opening of our office in Costa Rica is a commitment to providing the highest level of service we can to serve customer needs here and around the world," said Jeff Gordon, President and CEO, Syniverse. "Establishing this office in Costa Rica was a strategic decision based on availability of qualified talent, proximity to Syniverse's customer base in this region, and alignment with customer needs for multiple languages and time zones in Latin America."

Costa Rica is one of the Latin American and global leaders in the high-tech services sector. The maturity of the sector in the country has been developing for more than a decade and its consolidation today has positioned the country as one of the most sophisticated venues in Latin America. In the first three months of the year, the ‘computer and information services’ considered as high added value increased 12.2 percent reaching $468.5 million and exceeding the average growth of the total (7.5 percent). We are highly delighted to have Syniverse join the group of business leaders that have made this possible,” Costa Rica Minister of Foreign Trade Anabel González said.

Syniverse makes mobile work for the entire mobile ecosystem, including more than 1,500 mobile service providers, enterprises, ISPs and app providers in nearly 200 countries and territories.
