eBay Inc. Opens New Development Center in Bangalore, India

12 September 2013 - eBay Inc. has officially opened its latest global development center in Bangalore, India. The new center plans to hire 1,000 engineers over the next three years and will host several centers of excellence for both eBay Marketplaces and PayPal. The center will also add to eBay’s existing presence in India, which includes a development center in Chennai and the eBay India Business Unit in Mumbai.

Bangalore is known around the world as the center for technology innovation in India. We are looking to tap into the large pool of software engineering talent in Bangalore, who will innovate with us and create the future of commerce. We are committed to India as a technology hub and see India’s software engineering talent as a critical driver for our long-term success,” said Ken Moss, Vice President of Technology and Sciences, eBay Marketplaces.

The new eBay Inc. facility in Bangalore joins other eBay Inc. global development centers located around the world including San Jose, Austin, San Francisco, Scottsdale, Omaha, Boston, Timonium, Berlin, Chennai, Singapore, Shanghai, Seattle, Portland, New York and Netanya.
