01 April 2014 - NTT has established NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Singapore as key R&D location for the Asia Pacific region and to pursue smart community related research in Indonesia, it has launched NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Bandung. It aims to scale up to a total of 40 people across both laboratories by 2017.
In order to further encourage business development in the Asia Pacific, NTT DATA has founded NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Singapore as a key R&D location for the region. NTT DATA Asia Pacific is playing a central role in developing NTT DATA Group’s business footprint across the Asia Pacific region and is now also responsible for NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Singapore.
“We welcome NTT DATA’s Innovation Laboratories in Singapore and are pleased that NTT DATA is expanding into new areas such as applied analytics in public sector, manufacturing, healthcare and financial services”, said Kiren Kumar, Director, Infocomms & Media, Singapore Economic Development Board. “We encourage NTT DATA to continue to leverage Singapore’s talent pool, advanced Information Communications Technologies (ICT) infrastructure and sophisticated demand for the co-creation and lead adoption of new ICT solutions.”
In Indonesia, NTT DATA has launched NTT DATA Innovation Laboratories Bandung in Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB: Institute of Technology Bandung). Indonesia’s IT investment is expected to experience a particularly rapid growth in this fast growing Asia Pacific region. It is also facing an increasing need for establishing “Smart Communities” where IT is leveraged to improve energy infrastructure and city transport to resolve rising urban issues.
