Clariant Plans New Masterbatches Plant in Australia

Muttenz - 12 August 2014 – Clariant plans to build its newest masterbatches plant in greater Sydney Area, Australia. The new plant will mainly serve the Australian market with a full range of color and additive masterbatches. Construction on the plant is currently underway, with plans of commissioning in the fourth quarter 2014.

Asia Pacific region is one of Clariant’s focal areas for future development. The new Australian masterbatches plant will support our Masterbatches business to grow and to increase its customer service focus in the region,” commented Mathias Lütgendorf, Member of the Executive Committee.

Clariant is a globally leading specialty chemicals company, based in Muttenz near Basel/Switzerland. On December 31, 2013 the company employed a total workforce of 18,099. In the financial year 2013, Clariant recorded sales of CHF 6.076 billion for its continuing businesses.
