London and Budapest - 19 January, 2015 - AsiaInfo, China’s leading telecoms IT supplier, has opened its new European Nearshore Delivery Center (NDC) co-located within Telenor Hungary’s Törökbálint HQ near Budapest. AsiaInfo expects to employ some 180 staff in the Törökbálint center within two years and is planning to recruit more than half the workforce locally, working alongside experts relocating from China.
AsiaInfo’s European Managing Director, Alex Hawker, said: “Little more than one year after announcing our first major European project, we are now embarking on our second one, and at the same time opening up a major new delivery center to support our customers and our expanding business.”
Christopher Laska, CEO of Telenor Hungary, said: “AsiaInfo will employ dozens of Hungarian developers, thus keeping local IT talents in Hungary and contributing to the growth of value-adding industries. I am particularly pleased that they are moving into the Telenor House in Törökbálint, further raising our profile as a center for excellence in telecommunications.”
The first local engineers have already been recruited for the new NDC, which will be headed by AsiaInfo Senior Director, Chen Huaping.
