Bogotá, Colombia - 29 April 2015 - Unisys Corporation has launched the Unisys Global Innovation Center in Bogotá, Colombia. The company plans to have nearly 20 professionals on staff at the Bogotá center by the end of 2015.
"Colombia is the perfect place to establish another center of innovation for new solutions that address our global clients' most pressing technology requirements. Latin America has huge potential as a market for IT professionals. Also, Colombia boasts one of the highest rates in solution penetration due to its many innovative and demanding clients seeking emerging technologies and services that can benefit their business," said Dan Huberty, chief technology officer (CTO), Unisys Enterprise Solutions.
Unisys chose the Colombian capital city as the headquarters for the new Innovation Center because of the advantages it offers in logistics and economic and political stability. Unisys also considered factors such as economic growth, infrastructure, time zone difference compared to the United States, competitiveness and a sophisticated culture aligned with that of the U.S.
Currently, Unisys has two other managed services centers in Colombia: in Rionegro (close to Medellín) and in Bogotá. Those two managed services centers employ more than 700 professionals servicing Spanish-speaking users.
